I’ve really enjoyed working with Angela, who recently joined Low Carb Living UK for a few months – my Network Support group program – to get some support.
We had a conversation about how it was all going for her.
What was the problem?
Angela said that previously she had been struggling as she have tried several times to ditch sugar on her own without success. This is what prompted her to sign up.
She told me that “Each time I’ll stick to it for a while then old habits would creep back in.”
And of course, helping people resolve and overcome these types of old habit issues is what I do best. Be that at the 1:1 level or in a group situation.
How did Low Carb Living UK help her?
Angela mentioned that “As a result of working through the program, I was able to focus on my mindset first and foremost and understand my relationship with food. It was a real eye opener.
“Something that I didn’t expect was that I now understand my triggers and how to focus my brain away from non-optimal foods.
“I also learned to say “no thanks” and not feeling the need to justify my response to someone offering me non-optimal foods.”
How easy was the system?
She mentioned that she loved that the Low Carb Living UK way of doing things as it is all UK based, unlike most Low Carb and Keto systems out there.
This means that the food is all very “normal” and easy to source.
She also said “The advice is straight forward, the support is great, and the process is amazingly easy to follow.”
What else happened?
I often tell clients that I’m sneaky. People come to me for “weight loss” and then discover that once they work the system, they’ve actually transformed their health, lives and outlook for the better!
Pretty much all of the current systems simply give you a food plan and tell you to get on with it. And then blame you when the plan they give you lets you down.
I don’t give people a meal plan. I teach them how to plan their meals, forever.
My work with clients improves their relationship to food and Angela picked up on this, telling me that
“You coached me to adopt simple changes in the language I use to refer to foods. This has had an incredibly positive impact. For example, instead of saying “I’m not eating those foods”, I say “I’m avoiding those foods” and I don’t feel deprived.
“Understanding your relationship with food and why we eat what we eat is definitely an eye opener. And understanding our triggers helps us to stay on track.
“I now tell people that If they want to live a low carb way of life, then come talk to you first!”
For which I am of course very grateful 🙂
So, how could I help you?
As you all know, I’m passionate about serving the UK. We actually have relatively little UK centric information and support on offer.
As I realise that my 1:1 services are not accessible for the budget of everyone, I created Low Carb Living UK to make my systems for healthy long term success as accessible as possible to the whole of the UK!
